Solar PV grant 2026

Solar PV panels turn daylight into electricity you use in your home, cutting your bills and letting you sell surplus power back to the grid. The SEAI grant is worth up to €1,800.

Standard 2026 SEAI rates, by dwelling type. Amounts are for guidance — confirm current figures with SEAI or your installer.

How the solar PV grant is calculated

The grant pays €700 per kWp for the first 2kWp, then €200 for each additional kWp up to 4kWp — capped at €1,800. So a 2kWp system gets €1,400, a 3kWp system €1,600, and a 4kWp or larger system the full €1,800. There's no BER requirement before applying, which makes solar one of the simpler grants to claim.

Am I eligible?

Your home must have been built and occupied before 2021, and the panels installed by an SEAI-registered solar installer. You don't need a separate BER assessment to receive the solar PV grant.
